One Sunday

This has been a very long day for me. It’s Sunday, supposed to be my day off but since we didn’t have work last Tuesday due to the holiday in US, I had to report for work at 12:15AM today wherein I just went out from work at 1:00 PM yesterday. I was only able to get almost 5 hours of sleep, not to mention the 3 hours that I got the previous day. I had a spitting headache when I reported to work this morning. Actually, I thought of not reporting at all coz I know I’m gonna be getting a lot of calls…but heck, I don’t wanna deal with that absenteeism policy.
As expected, a lot of calls came in to my line…most of them are members trying to get rid of their subscriptions. Darn, I have to do this sales pitch again when I could barely think straight! I even had a call wherein I almost slept when the member was enumerating her reasons on why she’s canceling her subscription…my mind was about to go blank already when my seat mate reminded me not to fall asleep and tapped my shoulder. I thought to myself, “Buti na lang ginising ako ni Joycee…I was saved.” Well, that was a whole 9 hours of battling over my sleepiness. Good thing I won! However, the story doesn’t end there….I remembered, I need to go and buy some groceries. So I went to the grocery store and took the stuff that I need as quickly as possible and went to the cashier to pay them so I could go home already.
When I arrived home, I was ready to go change clothes when my mom-in-law asked me to accompany her and my son on this birthday party that they need to attend. So, I said yes. At the party, there was a part 2 of the battle…and since the place is crowded, it was just soo damn hot and my whole body felt sticky. I told myself, “Jen, just try to endure the feeling….mga 1 oras lang naman yan eh, then uwi ka na.” For the love of all the gods and goddesses, the party went on for 2 and a half hours! I felt like I was losing my senses already, I don’t even understand what the host was saying…the battle was on-going! Then when the hosts of the party said their thanks, I was like, “Finally!” so I grabbed my son and told him, “Gelo, uwi na tayo.”. When we got home, I went straight to the bathroom and took a shower since I can no longer take the sticky feeling.
After that refreshing shower, here I am now…sitting in front of the computer, thinking about what happened…and Gosh! This is one heck of a day!
I’m still full coz of the food I ate at the party, so I’m gonna hop on my bed now and get some good night sleep.
Looking forward for a more beautiful day tomorrow. =)
