My Getaway

Just got back from our trip to Cebu and am still ecstatic with the experience I had there. You see, it’s my first time to travel down south. Before Cebu, the farthest place I’ve ever been to was Batangas. I was also my first time to get on a plane. This trip was actually not planned until Poks told us about the “free” trips that Cebu Pacific was giving out. For our flight, we only paid Php 450 (that already includes insurance and the payment for choosing our seat…hehe…) so, it was a jackpot!
On our flight to Cebu, our schedule was delayed for an hour so we got there at around midnight already. The following morning, Chary and I started our “adventure”. We didn’t have tour package so we went by ourselves. We went around the famous places in Cebu and had soo much fun! Of course we didn’t forget to take our picture! It’s actually funny coz, in Cebu, we somehow got lost after we got on a jeep without really knowing where it goes. Good thing, “Marites”, a very nice lady who was riding with us that time helped us and she gave us directions. She even helped us buy “danggit” and “otap” for our pasalubong.
After our day in Cebu, we went to Bohol. We rode the “SuperCat” (ferry) to get to Tagbilaran and it was an hour and forty-five minute ride. Another first time for me…hehehe…. While waiting for our scheduled trip, I was actually thinking, “What if I get sea-sick and puke all over the place….darn, that would be very humiliating!” good thing that didn’t happen. When we got there, we checked-in our hotel to leave some of our stuff and proceeded with our adventure. Like what did in Cebu, our plan in Bohol was to ride public transportation to get to our destination. So, we rode the bus to get to our first stop, Chocolate Hills Complex. It was one heck on an hour ride, but all worth it when we got there! By the way, we had to ride the “habal-habal” (single-motorcycle) to get to the viewing area. Once you reach the viewing area, it is just soo fascinating! After that we decided to hire the habal-habal to take us to other places. We went to see the man-made forest, the bamboo-hanging bridge, butterfly haven, Loboc river, and of course they took us to the place where we could see tarsiers. I specifically told my habal-habal driver that I have to see and touch a tarsier or else my Bohol trip would be ruined. The driver suggested that we go to see the largest python, we declined. Chary and I decided to go to Baclayon Church the following morning, which we did before our scheduled trip back to Cebu.
On our flight back to Clark, our trip was again delayed for an hour….probably because it was raining. We went through a lot of turbulence but it was ok. I got home, almost 11:00 PM and was soo happy when I was telling my husband how much fun I had there. Surely, I will go back there…probably, try to go to the beach that time. =)
